This raga conveys several rasas or themes indifferent modes. However, Bhakthi and self realization are the essence. It was a discovery of saint Thyagaraja who composed the master piece Mokshamugalada in this raga. The composer questions if it is possible achieve mukthi from this earth by a person without the knowledge of music or true devotion.
