Lalitha Sahasranamam and Lalita Panchakam ** SRI LALITHA SAHASRANAMA STOTRAM is metrical composition in Sanskrit with thousand names of goddess Lalitha. She, also known as Durga or Devi, the wife of Lord Siva, one of the three Great Gods in the pantheon of Hinduism, Endowed with great valour she slew the demons like Bhandasura and Mahishasura and brought relief to gods who were tormented by the demons. As Parvathi or Uma she is worshipped in unison with Siva, She is hailed as Sakthi or Energy in divine form that activates aii creatures in the universe. ** SRI LALITHA SAHASRANAMA STOTRAM is continued in the Bhavishya Purana, one of the several puranas or religious poems of mythological charcter in Sanskrit. According to tradition its contents were conveyed and taught by Lord Hayagriva, the fount of all knowledge, to the redoubtable sage Agastya. As indicated in the title the Goddess is praised for Her divine or auspicious qualities in Her thousand names. A person is assured of hapiness, health, wisom and prosoerity from the daily recitation of the STOTRAM with devotion. ** SRI LALITHA PANCHARATNAM is a short and sweet poem of fine verses, commposed by Sri Sankaracharya. It is in praise of Goddess Lalitha and is recitied at the end of daily worship of the Goddess in the mornings.
